Living in Wine Country

On Saturday, we had a wonderful time wine tasting with dear friends, Courtney, Aaron, Katie, and Rex. We tasted delicious wines at Silver Oak in Geyserville and Twomey Cellars in Healdsburg. An added bonus, Aaron brought along his camera!

Second Grader

Alanna completed her first week of second grade on Friday. She was full of smiles at pick-up on the first day of school, and I am glad to report that it continued throughout the week. She really likes her teacher and already has made new friends in class.






Our Staycation

Justin and I celebrated our tenth wedding anniversary yesterday. Let me tell you, we had an incredible weekend! I feel so blessed, I am one lucky gal.

Yesterday morning we dropped the kids off with my Mom and Dad and headed to Spa Solage in Calistoga. We treated ourselves to a couple's massage. After our massage we made ourselves comfortable in a cabine
next to the geo-thermal mineral pool. We lounged poolside and enjoyed reading, cuddling, and relaxing. The pool was delightful, very refreshing in the 95F degree weather. We also enjoyed a delicious lunch from Solbar. After leaving the spa, we stopped at Twomey for a little wine tasting. Later in the afternoon we headed to happy hour at Stark's and then stopped by Whole Foods to pick up food for our picnic-style dinner. How can you go wrong with cheese, olives, fresh tomatoes from the garden, baguette, and wine?

This morning we walked around Spring Lake and had lunch at Flavor. We spent the afternoon playing with the kids and then swimming at Mom and Dad's. Life is good!
