Last Day in the 2's Class

Ethan completed his first year of nursery school on Wednesday. He had such an amazing year! He loved playing at school with all of his new friends.

Chinatown

Last weekend we drove to San Francisco to visit my friend Courtney and her husband Denny, who flew in from Raleigh for a conference. We met them in Chinatown and had dim sum for lunch. It was great catching up with Courtney and Denny!

Friends since 2nd grade!

Rose Parade

On Saturday morning, we joined other members of the Mothers' Club and their families, to walk in the Luther Burbank Rose Parade. This year's theme was the "rose town hoedown." The kids looked pretty cute in their cowboy hats (if I do say so myself!). I am glad we participated this year, it was really fun.

Vegetables

We planted our first vegetable garden! In March, Justin helped me take out old lavender and other plants from one of the raised beds in our backyard. It gets tons of sun, so I am hoping that it will be a prime location for growing veggies. A few weeks ago, I enriched the soil with compost and then with my Mom's help, we planted tomatoes, cukes, bell peppers, bush beans, radishes and potatoes. We recently received lettuce from our neighbor, so that has been planted as well. Mom had extra dill and leeks to plant last week, so now I would say our garden is at maximum capacity. My Dad taught me how to add new drip lines to the existing irrigation line, so now we are good to go (I hope!). Gardening is such fun, I can't wait to go out and pick fresh veggies with the kids this summer.
