Shana Tova!
Shana Tova, wishing those of you celebrating Rosh Hashanah today a sweet new year. Here are a couple of photos I took of the kids before we headed to synagogue last night.

Space Walk 2011
On Friday, Alanna participated in the APT's (Alliance of Parents and Teachers) largest fundraising event, a walk-a-thon. Money raised from this event will fund assemblies, field trips, computers, PE and science support, and faculty allowances. We are so glad to be in a district where parents are willing to support these much needed activities.
She and her best friend, Hannah, walked twelve laps around the elementary school track. Considering how warm it was, I was very impressed!

Lovin' the Legos
Ethan is a mini-Justin and loves building and playing with Legos. Here is a video of his latest creation. By the way, I recently learned that a Yagi-Uda is a type of antenna.

Goodbye Old Green Fence
The fence next to our garage was really on its last legs, the boards were sagging and rotting. Plus, the gate was too small to easily roll our garbage bins in and out of the side yard. So...Justin learned to build a fence this weekend.

Making Applesauce
On Friday, Mom brought over tons of apples from her Gravenstein apple tree. Ethan, Mom, and I made twenty-one jars of delicious applesauce. I have fond memories of canning fruits and veggies with my Mom in our farmhouse in NY. It was really special watching her work and teach Ethan. Such a fun morning!
