At the Oakmont Bunny Hunt

We had a really nice weekend. On Saturday morning, my Dad came over (Mom's in NY), and we headed up to my in-law's house in Santa Rosa. Sherry and John's retirement community had a bunny hunt for grandkids at noon. There was a separate egg hunt for toddlers, so Alanna found a bunch of eggs without too much competition or assistance from Mom. The adults were more disappointed than Alanna to find that the eggs were empty. No worries though, Sherry had chocolate eggs for us to snack on when we got back to the house. We had a nice relaxing afternoon and then ate a delicious meal before heading back home. Since we don't celebrate Easter, yesterday was a pretty mellow day. We met some friends for lunch in Mountain View and spent the rest of the afternoon playing outside and enjoying the beautiful weather.

I am glad to report that my cold *finally* went away. Feeling sick definitely puts a damper on things. We had a really nice weekend. On Saturday morning, after a yummy pancake breakfast, Alanna had her first bubble bath. She was quite skeptical at first, but then really enjoyed it. After bath time, we headed over to Los Gatos to check out the annual Bunny Fun Hunt. They had an egg hunt for 2-3 year olds at 10:45am. There were tons of children there and the hunt probably lasted for less than 3 minutes. Although it was totally chaotic, Alanna enjoyed the few chocolate eggs that she found. Saturday evening, we met out friends, Andy, Amy, and Alex for Chinese food. We were surprised to watch Alanna devour the hot and sour soup.

On Sunday, Mom and Dad came over and we all headed to the Oakland Zoo. We had a great time! The zoo is perfect for small children. It was not crowded (we arrived at 10am), you can get really close to all of the animals, and can see the entire zoo in a couple of hours.

Here is a link to pictures from the zoo:

The weather is absolutely spectacular today. We went for a walk on the trail this morning and played at Campbell park. After Alanna's nap, we'll head back outside to enjoy this beautiful day.

Have a great week!

Happy Monday. I'm getting over a head cold that began on Friday. I was in denial until yesterday, I kept telling Justin that it was allergies. I'm feeling a lot better today, but am definitely still congested. It's no fun trying to sleep when your nose thinks it's a faucet. Colds are annoying!

We had a really nice weekend, despite my cold. On Saturday morning I worked a 4-hour shift at Outrageous Outgrowns. It is a huge bi-annual resale event in San Jose. I have shopped at the sale a few times now, but this year I was a seller as well. I am hoping to have sold a bunch of Alanna's baby clothes. We'll see... After Alanna's nap, we headed down to Santa Cruz to see my Mom (Dad is in Detroit for a bridge tournament). We got Thai food for dinner and spent the night.

It's hard to believe that I'm entering the third trimester of my pregnancy this week. Our little guy will be here in less than 3 months! Justin and I are definitely excited for his arrival, although part of me feels like it's the "calm before the storm." The first couple of months with a newborn are pretty tough, and this time around we have a toddler in the mix. We have yet to broach the subject with Alanna. However, she does know that there are "baby kicks," in Mommy's tummy. She got to see my belly moving around the other night, her expression was absolutely priceless.

Sorry that I don't have any pictures to post right now. I'm sure we'll be snapping shots again soon.

It's been awhile since I've blogged. Things are going well around here. We've been enjoying the beautiful weather, going for walks, playing at parks, and exploring outside. Alanna has been talking up at storm these days. She loves to sing, do art projects, visit with friends, and read. Speaking of reading, she now likes to sleep with tons of books on her big girl bed. Some children choose stuffed animals, ours prefers reading material. I guess I can't complain, especially if she is sleeping well. I counted this morning, she had 21 books lined up on her bed! She's quite a character.
