It is hard to believe Ethan is going to be 3 months old tomorrow! Time has been flying by. Our little guy has such a sweet and mellow demeanor. It is so easy to make him smile.

Alanna will be starting nursery school on the 9th. We went to a "welcome back picnic," on Wednesday, where she got to meet some of her classmates, read stories with her teacher Mrs. Sanyoo, and play at the park. She is really adjusting well to life with a little brother. Can you believe she is going to be 3 in 7 weeks?! Her favorite activities these days include singing, arts and crafts, puzzles, and reading books.

Last weekend we had Ethan's baby naming ceremony down in Santa Cruz. Ethan was surrounded by Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins, who traveled far and wide (Oregon, NY, Connecticut, Sacramento, Santa Rosa, and Brisbane), to celebrate with him and welcome him into the family. We felt really blessed to have everyone there with us to make it such a wonderful day.

What's new this week? Well, Ethan has discovered his hands, he is constantly gnawing on his fists. He is continuing to do longer stretches at night (it wasn't a fluke last weekend), typically he eats "dinner" around 6:30p and then sleeps from 6:45 or 7p until 3a, then goes back to sleep until 6:30ish. Alanna is getting very excited about starting school in September. We found out that I have been assigned "animal care," for the school year. We will be bringing Ziggy the guinea pig home in a couple of weeks to get acquainted with him. I will be responsible for purchasing his food and supplies, changing his cage, and organizing his weekends/holidays with different members of the school.

I discovered Facebook the other day. For those of you not familiar with it, it is "a social utility that connects you with the people around you." Warning, it is extremely addicting! Check it out.

Ethan had his longest stretch between feedings last night, 7.5hrs. I fed him at 7p, 2:30a, and then at 7:30a this morning. I hope this trend continues! He is such a mellow, sweet boy. We are really enjoying our new addition. Alanna is a great big sister. She loves holding Ethan, as well as reading and singing to him. She is surprisingly understanding when I have to attend to his needs, whether it be feeding, changing, or bathing him.

Alanna and her friend Taylor got their nails done on Friday. The salon where my friend Stephanie gets pedicures, said they would do Taylor's nails for $3. They invited us along, and I thought it would be a fun big girl activity for Alanna. Of course her nails were smudged 5 minutes later!









Yesterday we went to a BBQ hosted by Courtney and Aaron, to celebrate their 1-year wedding anniversary. We caught up with friends who we haven't seen in months and ate yummy food. Aaron drove out to Tomales Bay yesterday morning and got 12-dozen oysters. They were SO delicious! The kids did great, Alanna had fun swimming and playing with her friend Riley.

Ethan is 2 months old! We went to his doctor's appointment yesterday. Here are his latest stats: 12 lb, 15 oz and 24.5 inches. Our big guy is starting to wear 3 to 6 month clothes already.
