Toddlers say the darnedest things...this afternoon while drawing with markers, Alanna drew a little circle. I asked her what it was and she said, "it's a chickpea." I thought it was so cute, I just had to share.

On Sunday we attended my cousin Matt's wedding. Matt and Michelle chose an awesome venue, Nestldown in the Los Gatos Mountains. It was perfect for kids, with a large grass field, koi pond, tree house, and train ride. Alanna and her cousins had a blast. Justin and I had a lot of fun too!

Ethan is now 6 weeks old. He went to the doctor for a check-up last week and weighed in at 12lb, 10oz and 23 inches. He's a big boy! He's now full of smiles, is starting to coo, and enjoys time on his play mat. We're also starting to get longer stretches of sleep at night, which Mom and Dad greatly appreciate.

It is hard to believe Ethan is a month old already. Time has been flying by! Overall Ethan is a mellow, sleepy boy. He does get fussy in the evening, which is totally normal, but still a little hard on Mom and Dad. Thank goodness for Dr. Karp, who wrote "The Happiest Baby on the Block." His tips for soothing crying babies really works.
I got to see Ethan's first smile on Monday, it was so wonderful, and made the lack of sleep and evening fussiness all worth it.
