Ethan is one!
Camping at Sugarloaf
On Thursday we took Alanna camping up at Sugarloaf State Park. It was lots of fun! We had a great campsite that backed up to a creek. Alanna thoroughly enjoyed turning over rocks and trying to catch water bugs (it was definitely reminiscent of my childhood). We went for a little walk and saw butterflies, lizards, and lots of wildflowers. When we returned to our campsite, three wild turkeys strutted by. Alanna was very intrigued by the campfire and (fortunately) slept well in the tent. Yesterday morning we saw a mother deer and her fawn on our way out of the park. We're looking forward to our next camping trip this summer.
Next year we'll bring Ethan along, when he isn't interested in eating rocks, leaves, and dirt :)
Do you think we had enough gear for one night?!

Ethan is crawling!
I was beginning to think that Ethan would go straight to walking. He really showed no interest in getting around, probably because Alanna brought him anything he ever needed, specifically toys. Well, just shy of his first birthday, our little guy decided to become mobile. Yesterday, we all watched Ethie crawl for the very first time. Time to really baby proof the house now!
