Today it is about 90 degrees in the South Bay. I must say that it is not fun being 37-weeks pregnant when the temperature is so high. I just feel cruddy when we're walking around outside. It is supposed to be in the 90's the rest of the week, yippee (note the sarcasm).

We had a really nice weekend. On Saturday, we headed down to Santa Cruz and had an early Mother's Day brunch with my parents. That afternoon Justin and I had massages at the Sanctuary Day Spa in Aptos. It was so wonderful, the masseuse focused on my achy lower back and hips. For those of you that are wondering how on earth I was able to lie on the table with my basketball belly, they removed a pad from the middle of the table for my tummy. After our massages, we headed to downtown Santa Cruz and had a delicious dinner at Aqua Bleu. On Sunday morning, Justin and Alanna took me to my favorite breakfast spot, The Cup and Saucer. That afternoon, our friends Derek and Sabra came over for a barbecue.

Yesterday, Alanna and I drove up to Redwood City and met my girlfriend Jamie and her 7-week old daughter Lilian at a park. We had a picnic lunch and watched Alanna play. Unfortunately the park had little shade, so we were all pretty toasty after a couple of hours.

On Tuesday morning, Alanna and I went to visit Almaden Parent's Pre-school. Alanna dove right in and checked out all of the activities, she also participated in circle time. We were thrilled to find out that there were still 3 spots left in next year's class, so we enrolled in the program immediately. Her good buddy Dax will be attending APPS as well. Alanna is very excited to start nursery school in September. She will attend school on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. It is a parent cooperative preschool, so I will be working in the classroom approximately 3 times a month. I can't believe our little girl is going to school in 4 months!

I went to my 36-week appointment this morning. Less than a month until Baby Magers arrives! My doctor thinks the little guy is about 5.5lbs right now. I am glad to report that he is in the right position (head down), so we're ready to go.

On Friday, the 25th, I had dinner plans with a couple of girlfriends. They totally surprised me with a baby shower. Eight of us had dinner at Cafe Artemis in Campbell. The girls also brought a delicious ice cream cake for us to enjoy and adorable gifts for the little guy. Tiffany made the incredible 3-tiered diaper cake pictured below. It was such a wonderful surprise!

Saturday afternoon, we headed down to Santa Cruz to celebrate the last night of Passover with my family. Melanie and Pete drove down from Sacramento. It was great catching up and spending time together, the evening was filled with laughter. We all slept over and had brunch together in the morning. After brunch, Alanna thoroughly enjoyed putting on make-up with Aunt Mel. Mel allowed Alanna to apply the eyeshadow all by herself. Didn't she look beautiful?!

This past week was pretty quiet. We did our usual activities and errands. Alanna did discover how much fun it is to play with Daddy's headlamp. She looked pretty cute walking around the house with nothing on but a diaper and the headlamp.
